Quapaw or Buckstaff: compare the bathhouses

The bathhouses in Hot Springs, Arkansas offer different bathing experiences. Quapaw and Buckstaff should be compared by the service you want, admission rules and booking process. The park’s geothermal water does not mean that bathing outdoors anywhere in the park is allowed.

Choose by the visit you can make.

Bathhouse Row offers two distinct ways to experience thermal water. Compare a traditional bathing sequence with communal mineral-pool soaking; the park does not offer outdoor hot-spring soaking.

Quapaw Baths & Spa

Shared thermal-pool soaking or bookable private services

Public pools have a 14+ minimum and do not use the same reservation process as private treatments. Check swimwear and footwear rules.

Choose the service rather than only the building

NPS identifies Buckstaff’s traditional bathing and Quapaw’s modern mineral pools as the two bathing options. Their shared Bathhouse Row location does not make the service or minimum age identical. Use each operator for the precise package and schedule.

The visible outdoor springs are not soaking pools

NPS explicitly says there are no outdoor soaking opportunities in the park. Bathing takes place in the two bathhouses, where spring water is piped indoors. A display spring, fountain or cascade is not an alternative public bathing area.

Questions before you go.

Can I soak outdoors in Hot Springs National Park?

No. NPS says the park has no outdoor soaking opportunities. The two named bathhouses offer indoor thermal-water bathing products.
