START FROM CALGARY

Hot springs near Calgary.

Choose between two developed Columbia Valley pool visits and a natural spring reached by a gravel forest road. Radium, Fairmont and Lussier are alternatives for a mountain trip from Calgary; their short straight-line map distances cross mountain terrain and do not establish a short drive or a one-day loop. Check the actual road route and the bath’s operating notice before choosing an overnight base.

Make a real mountain-road plan

These are Columbia Valley alternatives west of Calgary, not a verified short loop across the aerial gaps on the map. Use official directions and current road conditions for the actual route. Lussier’s last approach is a gravel industrial road, which requires a different decision from the developed public pools.

Keep Banff and Miette closure evidence visible

The directory retains Banff’s annual-maintenance closure and Miette’s seasonal closure, so neither is a current recommendation here. Their posted tariffs do not establish available bathing. Check Parks Canada directly for reopening instead of assuming that the better-known Alberta name is the simplest available stop.

Choose swimming, soaking or a quieter evening

Radium’s hot and cool pools follow different winter hours. Fairmont’s late-night public membership covers a shorter window, while its guest-exclusive pool has separate eligibility. Decide which water and visit length matter before comparing a single-entry tariff with a day membership.

Before booking or setting off

Check the exact bath, total ticket cost, age policy and current operating notice. Map positions are venue overviews, not surveyed entrances. No driving time is estimated here. Follow official directions for the final road or trail approach.

Questions before you go.

Can I reserve Radium in advance?

No. Parks Canada sells admission in person at reception, first come, first served. A day or annual pass does not eliminate capacity waiting. A national-park pass is also required.

Does Fairmont public entry cover every resort pool?

No. The public pools and lodge guest-exclusive pool have separate eligibility. Read the public day or late-night membership product and add applicable taxes when comparing prices.

Is Lussier the same type of visit as Radium?

No. Lussier uses a gravel forest service road and a natural-pool trail, with industrial traffic and no mobile service. BC Parks advises against access in icy conditions. Radium is a developed facility with a separately published access route and equipment.
